Is AtourNet really FREE?
Yes. Joining AtourNet is easy and completely FREE. All you need to do is click and create . You don't need to be a computer whiz to be yourself at AtourNet. After filling out the join form, you get your very own spot on the web where you can express your faith, opinions, ideas and dreams to the world!

How can I show my page to other people?
Generally, your address looks something like the image to the right.

After you Sign In, you can find the address of your home directory by visiting this box on your admin page.

You forgot your password? No problem! Just visit the Forgot your password? page and then go check your email. No worries, help is on the way.

What if I forgot my email address? Am I in trouble now?
No. You are, however, out of luck. Try meditating or Ginkgo Biloba. The only way to retrieve your password is through your email address, in the manner described above.

How do I change my password?
In the Admin View, click on "Controls and Settings" then select Update your Password page and fill in the blanks as desired.

Can I still login if I change my email address?
Yes you can. your email address is simply used as your log in name however you must update your new email address. To change and update your email address, please visit your admin page and click on "Control and settings". Next select Change your email address option.

Can I use my old email address to login even if I don't check my email there anymore?
Yes. That's all fine and dandy.

What are the privacy settings all about?

Throughout the site, we give you an opportunity to decide who you'd like to share various pieces of information with. For instance, every time you create a new photo album, you get to choose whether to keep it private or share it with everyone on AtourNet. And, if you create your own private network (i.e. family, bible study group), you'll have the option of sharing your photos with only those members that you have invited to join your private network.

• Share with AtourNet = Open to people on your friends list (must be a AtourNet member)
• Keep private = Just for you and no one else

What makes the Admin view, the World view different?

When you Sign in, you automatically enter your Admin view. This is where you get an overview of your entire account, access to features and control over your content and privacy settings. Your Photo album, Messages, Journal, Skins, Wish list, Calendar, Reminders, Friends list, Groups and more are located here. The World view is how your page appears to everyone else on AtourNet.

What's the purpose of having different views?

We made the views so you can see how your main page appears to the world.

You can preview your page by click on the "Preview your Page" button located at the body of your admin page.

To return to your admin page, simply click on the "Return to Admin page" button

How do I make new friends on AtourNet?

Finding interesting people who share your faith is easy at AtourNet.

1. Click on the "Search" link on the top of your Admin Page
2. Find and view the profile of the person you wish to make friendship with
3. Click on the "Add to your friends" link
4. Wait for the person to accept your invitation

One can never have too many friends. You can, however, have too many annoying friends, so before adding someone new, we recommend that you:

• Preview potential friends' profiles to make sure you've got something in common
• Exchange a few words through messaging to get to know new people
• Think carefully about whether you want to include the new person in your friends page party
• Trim and edit your friends list from time to time, preserving the quality of your relationships

Somebody's annoying me! What should I do?

It's easy to take care of annoying users. Simply go to the person's page and locate the "Block this user," link. Once the person is on your blocked users list, you're through with them unless you choose to unblock them later.

When and how do I report abuse?

Our goal at AtourNet is to create a positive Christian environment so everyone can coexist in harmony. We remain supportive of each person's right to express themselves but reserve the right to cancel accounts that overstep the bounds of decency. If someone bothers, threatens, makes indecent comments, or harrasses you for your beliefs or opinions, please let us know by clicking the "Report abuse," link on the offending user's page, at the top navigation bar.

I'm getting a ton of requests for friendship but I'm not interested. What should I do?

If you choose to create an exclusive friends network or simply are not interested in new friends and choose to live in solitude, we can help you.

1. Sign in to your account
2. Select the "control & settings " from the admin screen
3. From the drop down, click "Update my notification preferences"
4. Locate, "Require users to know my e-mail address before asking for my friendship"
5. From the drop down, change "no," to "yes"

Voila! Now only people who know your email address can interrupt your peaceful life.

What is a Private Network? Why do I need one?

If you are looking for a private and more secure place, Private Networks are for you. A Private Network helps you stay invisible from the rest of the world and only people inside your network can see and collaborate with one another. A Private Network is great for close friends, families, churches, bible study groups, you name it!

• Your network is invite only. People can join and interact with other members only if you invite them.
• You can have multiple networks & only you and members of your network know about the existence of your networks.
• The web address of each network is masked and no one from your other networks can trace you back or see any connection between you and other networks on the site.

Your profile is displayed each time you start or join a new network. This is so you can decide on your identity and how much information you wish to share or reveal with each network.

In addition, all the elements and tools such as Photo Albums, Calendar, Blog, Address book, in your network will remain private and only visible to selected members.

Why do I need to create a new profile when I start or join a new network?

You are asked to create / update your personal profile as well as your privacy settings each time you start or join a new network. This characteristic is important because it allows you to:

• Create a new profile so you can choose how you wish to represent yourself to the network
• Keep each network and its relationships within the network completely separate and private from another

How can I change the name of my private network?

The only person who CAN change the name of the private network is the originator (the person who started the network).
In order to change the network name you must:

1. Sign in to your AtourNet account
2. Using the tabs, click on the network you wish to change
3. Click on "manage preference: link
4. Select the link reading: Change your network name
5. Enter the new name for your network and click on submit

How can I invite people to my private network?

If the person you are inviting is not a member of AtourNet then:

1. From the admin page click on "invite more people to join your private network"
2. Type in the email address of the person you wish to invite to your private network and "click on invite friends"
3. You should see the friends email address listed, in front of the friends email address you should find a drop down menu that lists all your private networks names
4. Wait for the person respond. Once your friends complete the joining process, will automatically add them to your page
   

If the person you are inviting is a member of AtourNet then:

1. Navigate your way to the person's page whom you are trying to invite and click on "add (person's name) to your friends" link
2. Using the drop-down menu, select the name of the network you like to invite your friend to
3. Send your invitation and wait for the person to join. Once your friends complete the joining process, will automatically add them to your page
